Marisa L. Garza
Mrs. Marisa L. Garza is a proud 1991 graduate from Edinburg High School. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas-Pan American in 2001. Mrs. Garza then obtained a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Texas-Pan American in 2006. She holds a Texas Educator Certificate in Secondary Business Composite (6-12) and a Standard Principal Certificate (EC-12). This is Mrs. Garza's 11th year as a campus principal. Prior to Lorenzo De Zavala Elementary, she proudly served three (3) years as Principal at Harwell Middle School, and five (5) years as Principal at Dr. Thomas Esparza Elementary. Her expertise includes serving as Curriculum Assistant at F. Barrientes Middle School, Tutorial Facilitator at Edinburg North High School, and as CATE Teacher/ Drill Team Director at J. Economedes High School.
Mrs. Garza is married to Dr. Anthony Garza. They have two children; Loren and Anthony and reside in the great city of Edinburg. Mrs. Garza believes that “All children can learn. Any age, any group, provided they have a teacher who cares and is willing to put in the work.” Her mission is to teach all students to believe in themselves, no matter their circumstance.
